Lutalo has returned with a fantastic new single in ‘Oh Well’. The Vermont-based artist has dropped their grungiest track yet, with a huge slab of reverb-laden sound sitting at its cinematic core. It retains a juxtaposing sense of serenity and calm thanks to Lutalo’s airy, melodic voice. They explain that the track “focuses on remembering my parents’ separation and my mother's mental instability… She was suffering with heavy schizophrenia and had some episodes that stuck with me. The main idea was to capture the hope that I held onto for my mother to come back into my life as a main figure; witnessing the struggle my father had trying to manage his partner and care for his three children at the same time.” You can check out Lutalo’s debut album, The Academy, which is out on September 20th, 2024.
